The perfect spot for a Bridal Luncheon

June 3rd, 2012 by Judy Trull

It is true when you live in a home that you feel is just lovely, that not everyone may feel that way, however enter Aunt Mary.  Mary had found us on the web and thought our front porch might just be the spot for her to honor her niece Kelly, and hostess a bridal luncheon.  Many of you may ask, a bridal luncheon, what’s that?  Do you bring a gift, like for a bridal shower?  It turns out, you don’t, a bridal luncheon is a relaxed gathering of the ladies in the bridal party and the brides future Mother in law and her Mom, and other family and friends, bridal luncheon’s  are quite popular in the South, not so much in the Northern states.  When I met Mary in October, I must say I was intrigued and couldn’t wait to see how it all turned out, and it was a wonderful gathering, very relaxed and yet with a bit of a formal spin.  Mary had chosen a vintage theme, turns out she had been buying bits and pieces here and there and as you can see by some of the photos, it turned out just lovely.  Lunch was just delicious ( I would be a slacker if I didn’t mention the food), curried chicken salad, and a green salad, croissants, a rhubarb infused champagne cocktail, and a too die for berry sorbet.  It was lovely, right down to the last detail. A special memory of Kelly’s wedding weekend, and a definite high point for us here at the Lindsay House.  Thank you Mary and Kelly and all the ladies for a great day and some wonderful memories.

Judy, thanks for your wonderful blog on the bridal luncheon, but more importantly, thank you for all your hard work helping with the luncheon, from setting up, to decorating, to serving the food, and especially for your input and suggestions. Thanks to Tim for his exceptional photography and dish washing talents, and Mother Nature certainly deserves a special mention for providing the beautiful weather we so enjoyed. It was the most perfect day to spend on the front porch of your lovely B&B! You and Tim are unique hosts and I couldn’t have pulled this off without your support. My goal was to create a special memory for the bride and her guests, and I think this event will be hard to top. Thank you for making it a special day for all of us! Mary
