Photo: Mark your calendar for Manawa's Fall Fest. It's sure to be a great time!

For those of you who may or may not know, The Wizard of Oz happens to be my favorite movie of all time.  So I was really excited to learn of the Fall Fest theme this year.  It will be up to you to decide if you see the Scarecrow, the Tin Man or the Lion, and if you see the Wicked Witch, keep it to yourself and any flying monkeys, your on  your own. What a wonderful story, where a young girl can get a bump on the head and wind up in a totally different place, and still find people who look out and care for her, and ultimately she learns that she could take care of herself all along, however it was more of an adventure with friends and family along for the journey, a great movie I tell you. Come downtown with your friends and family, lots of things to see at this years Fall Fest. There will be vendors in Lindsay Triangle as well as on 2nd Street. There will be music sponsored by St. Paul Lutheran Church by The King’s Countrymen http://kingscountrymen.com/kc/about.html. There will be City Wide Rummage throughout Manawa as well. The chili cook off will be in front of the Food Pantry on 2nd street this year, just around the corner from where it was held in front of Eastling Insurance last year.  The judging takes place at 11 a.m. and then after the winners are announced, the chili will be on sale for $1 per bowl, with the proceeds going to benefit the Manawa Food Pantry.  You will also be able to learn more about the Manawa Food Pantry (donations of non perishable food items are always welcome) and tour the  building as well.  You will find all sorts of goodies at the Fall Fest for sale, as well as music and pumpkin bowling for the munchkins.  Come out and see what the Fall Fest has to offer and support the events in your local area. Check out http://manawachamber.org/ for more local and County wide events!
